What if I do not use my frozen eggs?

Many women who freeze their eggs do not end up using them (38). Some become pregnant without them. Others may not find a suitable partner and do not wish to use donor sperm, or they choose not to have children (39).

If you have unused eggs, you will eventually need to decide whether to discard them, or donate them to another woman or research (no babies will be made from research – it is illegal). Your fertility specialist will be able to explain your options in more detail.
